Maharshi Bagbhatt cautions about this and says that if they are taken in equal quantity, it will never cause the desired benefits. He prescribed that they should be taken in the proportion of 1 : 2 : 3 only. So to prepare 600 gms of Triphala Chrna one should always adhere to the following quantities.
Harad = 100 gms.
Baheda = 200 gms.
Amla = 300 gms.
The best way of preparation Triphala Churna is first make powder of each of these three dried fruits and then mix them in the proportion as mentioned above to make the authentic Triphala Churna.
How to Use Triphala Churna ?
The efficacy and the Benefits of Triphala depends upon the manner it is used or taken by the patient for curing different health conditions. Often an experienced Ayurvedic doctor prescribes the method as how to take this medicine.
Generally to treat a chronic Indigestion problem which has been lingering for more than 20-30 yrs, the doctor prescribes to take one teaspoon of Triphala Churna at night just before the sleep with warm water and take a glass of warm cow milk after that.
Person low at immunity and often who suffer from cold conditions is prescribed to take one teaspoon of Triphala Churna with honey or molasses in the morning hours just after getting up from the bed.
Often Triphala Churna is prescribed to take along with some other ingredients and this solely depend upon the nature and type of the disease that the doctor is treating.
For treatment of chronic diseases, Triphala Churna is generally taken for a longer duration of time. Ayurveda prescribes that it should be never taken at a stretch for a very longer period.
