‘Wiki Ayurveda’ was originally named as ‘Ancient Indian Medicine’ Blog which formed part of ‘ExploreMyIndia.in’. It was founded in July 2015 by Mr. RS Pandey. The sole purpose of this blog is to capture, notify, propagate and to allow the masses to be aware of different facets of the ancient system of medicine which originated in India and it primarily focuses on Ayurveda. The blog will be dealing and be presenting various forms, usability, and practices of this ancient medicine from its past to the present days of India.The Indian Culture, Heritage, Philosophy, Ethos, Customs and its History can be discussed in its bewildered form in this Blog in relation to the existing conditions of India and the World. We expect users of the blog to deliberate upon the given topics and to dwell upon various facets of it.

The word Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that evolves from the combination of two words. ‘Ayuh’ meaning life and ‘Veda’ meaning knowledge. Ayurveda the ‘Science of Life’ or ‘Wisdom of Life’ deals with nature and includes all aspects of life. Ayurveda is a 6000 years old science that originated in India and the components and concept of Ayurveda are rooted in Vedas, the ancient book of knowledge that dates around 3000 BC. The component of science that deals with health and disease is known as Ayurvedic Medicine and came into popularity to general masses around 1000 BC.

Ayurvedic Medicine is the world’s oldest comprehensive health care system and is indigenous to India where it is widely practiced in daily life even sometimes as customarily, The Ayurveda is not only a comprehensive medical system but also a way of life the very concept of ‘mind, body, and spirit’ originates from Ayurveda. It is now one of the most recognized and widely practiced disciplines of alternative medicine in the world.

Some of the popular practices of Ayurveda are Meditation, Yoga, Chanting, Breathing exercises, Panchakarma and Herbs.

When one go in the remote corner of India, in villages and on a mountain, the oldest woman or the man is found to be prescribing certain herbs as medicine which is readily available in the areas and thereby he treats the patient from the maladies and diseases. We have attempted to present here those common formulas, which are popularly known as ‘Dadi Ke Nushkhe’ so that people can get acquainted with it and get benefited.

I am 52 years old, served under Government of India for 26 years and after retirement presently working as a consultant in an MNC. I am experienced in the various facets of life by my service, education and works. Zeal of learning had prompted me to acquire multi disciplinary education in my career. Having initially graduated from Botony, Zoology and Anthropology, with time, acquired degrees in Electronics & Telecommunication engineering, degree in Law, Master degrees in Public Administration, Computer Science, Diplomas in Human Resource Management, Advance Management and Certifications in Oracle & Networking etc. Education has helped me to understand basic concepts of these disciplines in right perspective. Now I feel that this is the time for me to share my understanding with my friends, masses and fellow citizens of this great earth.
