Physiological Aspect of Water Fasting for Weight Loss
In Water Fasting for Weight Loss or for that matter in any type of fasting, first, the stored sugar or glucose contents of the body is consumed by the biological needs.
After the stored glucose energy is consumed, the body starts burning the fat contents of the body.
During the process of fat burning the body starts consuming the fat but the mind still requires glucose for its functioning. Therefore the required amount of glucose for the mind is obtained by burning the muscles tissues.
Utilization of body muscles causes muscle loss.
Our body is trained to conserve the loss of any muscle mass. Therefore before going to utilize the muscle mass, our body is naturally trained to direct the liver to convert nonessential tissues of the body into ketones which can be utilized by the brain.
When fasting is prolonged, the presence of ketones can be found out in the blood samples in laboratories.
In Water Fasting for Weight Loss, the general fasting phenomenon is hastened and one very soon reaches to the state of ketone formation in the body. Therefore in water fasting Muscle loss may follow soon.
The process of ketone utilization during fasting is called Ketosis.
Ketosis causes weight loss and detoxification of the body. It helps to cleanse the toxins from the body and melts the stored fat from the body which is the primary cause of weight gains.
Water Fasting attempts more on attaining the Healing Benefits for the body than the Weight Loss. Weight loss thus is the secondary action after the body rejuvenates to the healing process.
